Christmas delivery dates

For delivery before Christmas to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Canberra, order personalised items by Wednesday 9 December 2026 and stocked items by Wednesday 16 December 2026. Perth, Hobart, regional and remote addresses close earlier, and every date is in the table below.

Australia Post announced its 2026 Christmas send-by dates on 7 October 2026: for metro addresses, Parcel Post by 21 December interstate and 22 December within the same state, and Express Post by 23 December, with a few extra days needed to and from Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Tasmania and regional and remote areas. These are Santas Vault's own last order dates. For metro addresses, every item made or stocked in Australia is lodged before Australia Post's date when ordered by the date below. Each one is worked back from Thursday 24 December using the slow end of our published delivery times, seven business days to make a personalised item (the busy end of our 3 to 7), and two business days for a stocked item to leave the warehouse. We checked every date here against them on 14 October 2026.

Regional means anywhere outside the capital-city metro areas in the table, apart from the remote areas in the last column. Remote means Western Australia outside Perth, the Northern Territory and far north Queensland.

An order that mixes item types should be placed by the earliest date that applies to it. A personalised mug and a Christmas tree going to Melbourne together should be ordered by Wednesday 9 December.

How the dates are worked out

  • Personalised items are printed after you order. Making one takes 3 to 7 business days depending on the season, then the parcel is lodged. These dates allow the full seven, because December is the busy end. Some Your Design or Ours pieces are made by our print partners in 5 to 9 business days; their listing says so and their dates are two business days earlier.
  • Stocked items usually leave an Australian warehouse within one to two business days. We allow two.
  • Bulky items travel in a large carton and take 5 to 8 business days in transit. They cannot go Express.
  • Transit uses the slow end of our published delivery times: 4 business days to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra metro, 6 to Perth and Hobart, 8 to regional addresses and 12 to remote ones.

Santa sacks, Christmas stockings and pet bandanas are the exceptions. They are printed to order overseas, sacks and stockings in the United Kingdom and bandanas in the USA, and posted to Australia, which takes 3 to 7 weeks door to door (about three business days to print, then 10 to 30 business days in the post), so they close on Thursday 5 November wherever you live.

Every product page and your cart count down to the date for that item and for east-coast metro delivery. If you live anywhere else, go by this table.

What we promise, and what we do not

What we control is dispatch, and that is what we promise. Order on or before the date for your area and it is scheduled to be made and lodged in time, with tracking emailed the moment it is lodged.

What we do not control is the carrier. Once a parcel is with Australia Post or a courier, its arrival depends on their network, and no retailer can honestly promise otherwise in the third week of December.

So the backstop is this: if you ordered on or before the date for your area and your parcel has not arrived by 24 December, email us and we refund your shipping in full. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law sit on top of that and are not limited by it.

Common questions

Can I still order after the cut-off?

Yes. Orders placed after the date still ship; we simply cannot promise arrival before Christmas. For stocked items that are not bulky, Express Post moves the east-coast metro date to Friday 18 December and the Perth and Hobart date to Thursday 17 December.

Why are the remote dates so much earlier?

Parcels to remote Western Australia, the Northern Territory and far north Queensland can take up to 12 business days in transit, and a last order date has to allow for the slow end, not the average.

Do you ship outside Australia?

No. We sell to Australian addresses only.

Shop before the date

Personalised Santa sacks, mugs and ornaments are made to order, so they close first. Trees, decorations and lights ship from Australian stock and close a week later, on Wednesday 16 December for east-coast metro.

These dates assume the carrier network runs normally. Floods, fires, storms and industrial action do delay parcels in December and are outside our control; if one affects your order we will tell you what we know. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are unaffected.
